Code of Ethics
Diana's code of ethics is as follows:
I believe that everyone functions best in an atmosphere of mutual respect and consideration and, in my role as a tarot reader and astrologer for others, I am committed to the following code of ethics and reading framework:
- Readings are carried out with integrity, courtesy and respect to client privacy.
- Readings are intended to empower the client in a positive way, therefore the reading will always focus primarily on the client's own situation and choices; I reserve the right to refuse third party readings. I also regret that I am unable to undertake readings for minors and ask that, if you are not yet over 18, you do not request a reading. Any young person who is in distress about their situation is welcome, nonetheless, to request contact details for any available national or local community services that could be of assistance.
- It is my intention to read to the best of my ability and provide a professional service, however, I may not always be able to answer all of the questions/issues raised. Where I do not feel able or qualified to offer appropriate advice I will, if possible, refer the client to another, relevant source. I also reserve the right to politely withdraw from any reading based on my own discernment and without giving specific reasons.
- Reading charges are established according to the concept of a fair sum for the time and effort involved and reference to typical market prices. Readings will be delivered within a reasonable time frame. I reserve the right to take time to work with a client to clarify any question as may be required for best results.
- Aside from the above exception - and whilst reserving the right to refuse to be involved in any act that would be considered illegal - I am happy to provide a reading for anyone who requests one, so long as they are prepared to respect my ethics; this means regardless of national or personal differences such as race, sexual preference, religious persuasion, disability etc. In the same vein, in my quest to act from a spiritual perspective, I will refrain from making judgements regarding such issues as the moral elements of a situation. However, I reserve the right to refuse a reading where I feel I cannot be sufficiently objective, where it is clear to me that I am not the right person (or that astrology and tarot are not the right tools) to provide the reading sought.
- With respect to the format of email and postal readings, clients are welcome to respond to their reading in order to clarify any point that they are unclear about. However, should further questions arise that require more detailed reference to the chart or cards, these will usually need to be requested in the format of further readings to cover the time taken to address them.
- My view is that tarot and astrology are best consulted for self-knowledge and the consideration of choices involved in any situation. I do not believe that our futures are entirely "mapped out" and it is not my intention to try to dictate how anyone's future will be. Where any sort of time element is included in a reading, it is usually with consideration of the general atmosphere of that period and looking to see what activity might be most in accord with that atmosphere. The responsibility for choices rests with the client; neither tarot, astrology, nor the reader can be fairly expected to assume responsibility for the enquirer's decisions, conclusions or actions.
- In return for my commitment to provide a compassionate, helpful and respectful reading service, I request that each client acts with equal respect as a kind, compassionate and well-meaning fellow human being. This includes maintaining personal politeness, avoiding acting to actively undermine the reading process, being honest and prompt with regard to payment and refraining from pressing for services or information that I have indicated I cannot provide.
